A team status page usually needs a few specific things from a bigger tracker: this week’s completion number, the handful of items that actually matter right now, maybe a trend chart for the leadership version.
Building that page the manual way means opening the master tracker, copying a number here, a few rows there, taking a screenshot of a chart, and pasting all three into the status page; then doing it again next week, and the week after, until eventually someone stops bothering and the page just goes stale.
The Excerpt Macro removes the copy-paste step entirely, in three flavors depending on what a page needs.
A Single Cell excerpt surfaces one live value: a total, a percentage, a status flag, as plain text.
A Range excerpt displays a selected block of rows and columns, formulas included, without dragging the entire table onto the page.
A Chart excerpt embeds a live chart tied to the same source data.
All three are read-only wherever they’re excerpted: nobody editing the destination page can accidentally change the number, and all three update automatically the moment the source table changes.
