Backlog refinement usually means bouncing between two different views: one for what’s already in the sprint, another for what’s waiting in the backlog.
The Active Sprint Filter now includes a Backlog option alongside “All active sprints” and a specific-sprint selector. Selecting it surfaces unresolved work items sitting outside active sprints (the actual backlog) right in the same spreadsheet view you use for sprint work.
Combined with existing bulk-edit support, you can update priority, story points, or status on backlog items the same way you would sprint issues, without leaving the sheet.
A Scrum Master runs backlog refinement every Thursday before sprint planning. She used to keep two tabs open: one for the current sprint, one for the backlog, comparing story points by hand. Now she switches the Active Sprint Filter to Backlog, sorts by priority, bulk-updates story points on the top items, and moves them into the next sprint, all in the same spreadsheet she was already using.
It’s a small addition, but it removes one of the more repetitive parts of grooming: jumping between two separate views just to compare what’s committed against what’s coming next.
