Team ’25 Europe sold out! Thousands of customers, partners, and Atlassians filled Barcelona for three days of sessions on AI, teamwork, and where Jira and Confluence are headed next. Ricksoft was there! Here’s the recap.

Mike Cannon-Brookes opened with a reality check on AI hype. His point: most people don’t actually read internal documentation, so AI should be aimed at solving that unglamorous, everyday problem, not just producing flashy demos. “I suspect AI is following the exact hype cycle as every other major technology,” he said.
A standout customer moment: Tobias Langjahr, Product Manager at Mercedes-Benz, described connecting Rovo to their internal systems so all 35,000 users could “ask questions in plain language and get instant answers.”
The closing keynote went to Formula 1. Carlos Sainz took the stage, framing the “octane circus” of racing around the same idea Atlassian pushes across every Team event: it’s teamwork, not any single star player, that wins. A separate session, “From boardroom to pit crew”, had Atlassian Williams F1 Team’s Richard Sworder and Atlassian’s Andrew Boyagi go deeper on how the racing team runs its System of Work.
Rovo’s growth numbers were the headline stat: 3M+ active users, Chat usage up 50x in six months, and 2.4M workflows orchestrated through it — with a rollout to all eligible paid subscribers targeted by the end of 2025.
Rovo Studio (no-code agent builder with 100+ prebuilt skills) and Rovo Canvas (real-time collaborative workspace inside Chat) were both introduced.
Two new bundles went GA: the Software Collection (Rovo Dev, Bitbucket, Pipelines, Compass) and the Service Collection (Jira Service Management plus a new Customer Service Management app, powered by Rovo Ops).
Atlassian also introduced Ascend, a program aimed at helping Data Center customers move to Cloud, alongside Government Cloud reaching GA and Isolated Cloud entering early access.
The gap between “AI as a magic demo” and “AI as a boring, useful tool” was the most debated theme of the show — and it’s the more honest framing for most B2B teams evaluating Rovo today.
Enterprise customers like Mercedes-Benz talking publicly about Rovo at scale (35,000 users) signaled that AI adoption conversations were moving from pilot to production for large orgs.
Barcelona wrapped a big year for Atlassian’s AI roadmap, and we came away with plenty to bring into 2026.
We spent three days talking with Jira and Confluence admins about the same practical problems we always focus on — issue management, project planning, and work visibility. Thank you to everyone who stopped by — we demoed our full portfolio, from WBS Gantt-Chart for Jira to Space Sync for Confluence:
