What’s the difference between “Built on Forge” and “Runs on Atlassian”?

Built on Forge means the app is developed using Atlassian’s secure, serverless platform, with built-in hosting, identity, and security.

Runs on Atlassian is a badge awarded to Forge apps that:

  • Use only Atlassian-managed infrastructure (compute and storage)
  • Support data residency in the same region as your Jira or Confluence
  • Provide admin control over data egress, including the ability to block it

How do you test your apps for vulnerabilities?

Ricksoft participates in Atlassian’s Marketplace Security Bug Bounty Program, which enlists vetted security researchers to continuously test our apps. Valid findings are triaged and patched, and we can provide third-party testing summaries upon request. As Cloud Fortified apps, they also undergo automated vulnerability scanning and benefit from Atlassian’s proactive security measures.

Can I control where my data is stored?

All apps with the “Runs on Atlassian” badge support data residency (e.g., EU or US), ensuring your data is stored within Atlassian’s trusted cloud infrastructure, not third-party servers.
